Short version: Use Koiru to support your dog's everyday life, for lawful purposes. Tassutulkki recommendations are tools — always confirm important matters with a vet. The app is provided "as is" and is updated over time. Finnish law applies.

1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing or using the Koiru mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Tohmoco Oy, a company registered in Finland ("Koiru," "we," "us," or "our").

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (EU) or 13 years old (US) to use Koiru. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have your parent's or legal guardian's permission to use the App.

3. Your Account

To use Koiru, you must create an account via email, Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In. You are responsible for:

Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
All activity that occurs under your account.
Notifying us immediately at info@tohmoco.fi if you suspect unauthorised access.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. The Service

What Koiru does

Koiru is a diary for your dog's everyday life. You can log ten types of entries: feeding, walks, medication, symptoms, vet visits, elimination, weight, training, play and grooming. You can share the diary with your family, set reminders and use AI features (Photo-AI and Tassutulkki) with a Premium subscription.

Free tier

The free tier includes the full diary, family sharing, real-time sync and time-based reminders. The timeline shows the last 90 days. Limits of one dog and 200 photos apply.

Premium subscription

Koiru Premium unlocks Tassutulkki, smart reminders, Photo-AI, multiple dogs in one household and full history. Subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and are subject to their respective terms. Billing, refunds and cancellation are handled directly by the relevant store.

Prices may vary by region and are displayed in the App at the time of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. A 7-day free trial may be available for first-time subscribers under store terms.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Koiru only for lawful personal purposes. You must not:

Capture, upload or process content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory or infringes third-party rights.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile or modify the App or its underlying systems.
Use the App to send spam, automated requests or to scrape data.
Circumvent any security, access control or rate-limiting features of the App.
Impersonate other persons or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity.
Use the App for commercial data processing without a separate written agreement with us.

6. Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you store in Koiru ("Your Content"). By using the App, you grant Koiru a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process Your Content solely to provide the service to you (including AI analysis, storage and syncing).

You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to capture and process any content you add to Koiru.

7. Tassutulkki Accuracy — Important Notice

Koiru uses automated AI for Photo-AI recognition and Tassutulkki analysis. While we work to make these as accurate as possible, AI classifications, summaries and recommendations may be inaccurate.

Tassutulkki is not a vet and does not replace a vet's assessment. Its recommendations are tools to help you understand the situation. Do not rely on Tassutulkki alone for health-related decisions. In an emergency, contact a vet or on-call clinic immediately.

Koiru is not a substitute for professional veterinary, medical, legal or financial advice.

8. Intellectual Property

The Koiru app, its design, features and underlying technology are owned by Tohmoco Oy and protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property beyond the licence to use the App as described herein.

9. Third-Party Services

Koiru integrates with third-party services including Google Vertex AI (content analysis), Firebase (notifications, crash reporting), RevenueCat (subscriptions) and the Apple/Google app stores (payments, authentication). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices or terms of third-party services.

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by Finnish and EU law, Koiru shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to:

Inaccurate Tassutulkki recommendations or Photo-AI classifications.
Missed reminders or vet appointments.
Loss of data.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for a Premium subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €50, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

11. Availability and Changes

We aim to keep Koiru available and working well, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may update, modify or discontinue features at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes.

12. Termination

You may stop using Koiru and delete your account at any time through the app settings. Account deletion permanently removes all your data from our servers.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law) will continue to apply.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Any disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to the District Court of Helsinki (Helsingin käräjäoikeus) as the court of first instance, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise.

EU consumers may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes at least 30 days in advance via the App or email. If you do not accept the new Terms, you may close your account before they take effect.
